Introducing the Interns…

Posted by on June 13th, 2011

We have a great group of interns this year, all architects who will be helping us construct our site office to test out our mud building techniques.

Bradley Kinsey

Bradley Kinsey

Raised on steak, potatoes, and public pools, Bradley was your quintessential product of the American midwest. While the suburbs of Chicago offered him a side yard and picket fence, the idea of  varying topography and open space was all too alluring, so he packed up for the University of Colorado. While at C.U., Bradley’s appetite for new cultures was heightened as he studied abroad in Italy and traveled throughout Europe with the university’s snowboard team. Summer Media Internship

Posted by on February 24th, 2011

Number of Open Positions: 1

Internship Period: We are looking for a media intern throughout the year

Job Description:

The Panigram Resort summer internship is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in a foreign culture and get hands-on experience developing a resort from the ground-up. Your office will be the Panigram project site, located in the beautiful Jessore District of southern Bangladesh. Our past interns have designed and built pavilions, researched alternative energy, and taught English to local school children. We are looking for intrepid, adventurous students who are not afraid to take initiative. Because the conditions at Panigram can be both physically and mentally challenging, we want to hire students who can easily adapt to different cultures and can handle a camping-type of environment (the accommodations in Jessore are very basic.)

The media intern will be responsible for documenting the design and construction progress and the internship experience through photography, blogging, and video. This intern will need to prepare a blog entry (with photos) and a small 5-10 minute video clip each week to post on our website. The media intern will also be responsible for building up our social networking presence.

Qualifications:

Sophomore, Junior, and Seniors majoring in journalism, communications, or media are invited to apply. Must have experience with videography and video editing. The intern should also have excellent writing skills and experience with photography. Knowledge of various social media sites (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc. is also essential.)

Other:

Interns will be responsible for providing their own transportation to and from Bangladesh. Housing, food, and transportation within Bangladesh will be provided along with a small stipend for incidental expenses.
